Year 6 participated in a heart #dissection lesson today to consolidate their learning in Science about the chambers and valves in the heart. They thoroughly enjoyed learning in such a practical way. #stem 💙

A group of Year 5 singers represented Barlby brilliantly at the @TBMHMusic Christmas Festival today. It was a privilege to participate in such a special event with so many other talented schools. 🎶🎄🎶

Golborne 1 and Dalgarno 4 got to know their reading buddies today! We will read a range of text types to each other and then share what we have read with everyone else. 📚 #readingbuddies

Today Year 5 began construction of their DT Tudor Houses! They studied the features of traditional houses during the era and created designs based on their knowledge. They used tools to cut and construct their wooden frames. 🏠🪚 #designtechnology #ks2dt 💙

In assembly today we thought about making a fresh start in 2024. We celebrated the success of 2023 but want to make this year even better! When we attend ‘Early Bird’ every day we gain an extra 1 hour and 40 minutes of learning a week!👍💙👍

Year 6 are learning how to play calypso rhythms using a selection of percussion instruments from around the world including various types of triangles, claves, woodblocks and shakers. Today they played three different complex rhythms together at the same time! 👍💙👏

Congratulations to our mixed Year 5 football team on their win at yesterday’s borough tournament. 👍💙⚽️
