One of the great quotes. Everyone I show it to agrees with it because it’s impossible to argue the wisdom of MacKenzie’s advice. What’s odd is so few follow it.

Some generous folks arranged for me to join them at Minikahda last week. While I had heard it was excellent, I admittedly knew little about the course. W. Watson designed the original course which D. Ross later revised. The land is ideal for golf, and the course is truly special.

Recently returned to Prairie Dunes for the 1st time in a few years, and it remains one of my favorite courses and clubs. High winds, firm turf, and the best set of greens in the world make for incredibly fun & challenging play. We had a fun group. Can’t wait for next year.

Back to Old_Barnwell a year after my 1st visit, & the course & club are already best in class. One of the top courses in the world, the design & turf quality are second to none. The founder, team, & members have quickly established an ideal culture, golf-wise & in the community.

Playing the Kids Course Old_Barnwell with my son was the most fun I’ve ever had on a golf course. Every shot is an option-filled adventure. Counting down the days until we get another crack at it. 🦉

Highly recommend getting a copy of McKellar Magazine the best written content in golf today. First 7 issues are wonderful, as I’m sure the 8th will be. Easy and affordable gift for golf lovers. Note - I have no affiliation other than being a subscriber. ⛳️

With Shadow Creek televised again tonight, a question on the course: is the end result truly among the best courses in the US? I understand it was built from a flat, dry desert floor, completely constructed, an engineering marvel…but is the course itself actually special?

Does anyone have a Broomsedge Golf Club scorecard they can share? Watching the Bryan Bros Golf video and curious what the distances would be from a tee or two forward. They’re playing from the way backs. Course looks good so far!

I was looking at the top 100 GB&I links courses (or the top 70 listed on the website atm) from Top 100 Golf Courses today. A very fine list as always, but I do have one question. When did you change views that the Castle course St Andrews Links is considered a links?

We’ve gone on several trips to Scotland, but somehow never made it to the Highlands. That will finally be rectified this fall. So, what advice would you give to a first time visitor (on and off course)?

With the morning wave nearly complete, there are currently 15 players at +1 or better. 10 of those are playing this afternoon. How many will there be by end of day? U.S. Open USGA
