Desk rejects should include *one* single sentence other than boilerplate and paraphrased text from the title/abstract. Instead of the "the literature more broadly" give me some damn refs. Instead of "a bigger mechanistic advance", tell me what you would have wanted to see.

I can get stuff done with it, but there a tutorial that will make me *like* Pandas? I always feel like it's in the way, I'm holding it wrong, I don't get the tao of it, etc.

I realize AI is a touchy subject in some areas, but can we all agree that Victorian Seinfeld is the right use of this technology?

I am very saddened to learn of the passing of Peter Schiller. Peter was a great scientist. He took me under his wing when I started at MIT. I'll never forget him. Miss you, Peter. #neuroscience

If you're at #Cosyne2024, please tell me about the cool stuff you see because I am not. (Seriously would appreciate this, but also entertained that half my feed is currently "If you're at...")

The Nelson Lab is hiring a postbac / technician! cu.taleo.net/careersection/… Please share with anyone who might be interested in neurodevelopment, behavioral plasticity, or sensory biology! Colorado is a wonderful place to do science and a beautiful place to call home 🤩

This 🧵 epitomizes the frustrating part of tES. Some (many! most?) individual studies are garbage but...not all of them. The mech isn't preposterous: we--and many others--have data showing it does /something/. And yet, it's all sneering about implanting USB-C ports instead.

Eagerly looking forward to participating in this next Tuesday. Please join us even—especially!—if you're skeptical about the role oscillations, ephaptic effects, and the like!

This is your annual reminder that participants in an experiment are never doing The Task™ (whatever it may be) or even "no task at all". If you're lucky, they're doing something that shifts their reward function towards the one provided by your task. Maybe. You gotta check!

Exasperated with Air Canada. First flight was delayed and they wouldn’t hold the connection for five minutes (for ten of us!), then rebooked me with a 27 hour layover when there was another flight—with room—leaving two hours later.
