We've been teaching #nanopore sequencing to a very diverse audience at our summer school Uni Duisburg-Essen @unidue.bsky.social . ᴀʟᴇx ᴘʀᴏʙꜱᴛ introduces. The scientists @ProbstLab Uni Duisburg-Essen @unidue.bsky.social are contributing to a shrinkage of the DNA amount needed for sequencing, enabling not only detection of microbes at the seafloor, but also pathogens early in the contagion phase and incubation period. (among a vast number of other use cases)

#Metagenomics can be a tool to better understand the anthropogenic disturbances affecting wildlife. We hope we could help Kerstin and the @SSommerLab on their mission.
