Hispanic Heritage Month is a reminder of why I went into medicine. As a proud son of Mexican immigrants, my early exposure to medicine was being my parents’ interpreter for any clinic/hospital visits. The lack of physicians that didn’t look or speak like us motivated me. 1/

As a son of a poor, Mexican immigrant family, I’m humbled to finish my vascular surgery training at NM Cardiovascular & start my job as Assistant Professor of Surgery at Stanford University Stanford Vascular & provide care to a diverse patient population at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center!
