The quantum-enabled scanner, commercialised by Cerca Magnetics Limited, allows free movement during a scan, opening up new possibilities for measuring brain function and dysfunction in a wide variety of disorders, for e.g. movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease #QuSIT

New #quantum imaging tech developed in #QuSIT_hub will reduce cost and increase sensitivity. We're working with digistain, who have shown a new approach in cancer diagnostics, measuring the nuclear-to-cytoplasmic ratio, an established biomarker which climbs as cancer takes hold.

#QuSIT will further research in #optical #spectroscopy to develop low-cost high-performance #quantum tech to capture real-time video imaging of gases - including #methane, which is responsible for between 30-50% of the rise in global temperatures - to help detect #gas leaks.
