Three things to know about the doctors strikes 1. Even with the 29% increase, doctors are STILL earning less than they did in real terms in 2008 2. Wes Streeting is paying doctor's assistants, MORE than he is paying doctors 3. My cleaner and most of my friends who have

If your pay fell behind everyone else's by this much, would you strike? I support @BMA resident doctors, forced to take strike action this week.

Lord Bethell Main difference between doctors and politicians when it comes to alcohol is that doctors are forbidden from drinking at work, whereas politicians have a subsidised bar where they can have fun and get merry before making decisions that affect the whole country.

Nationwide CEO £7m pay package declared ‘obscenity’ during AGM. Members still approved it, probably by erroneously handing proxy votes to chairman. Govts tell workers wage rises are inflationary; do nothing to control exec pay, dividends, share buybacks. theguardian.com/business/2025/…

All of the UK press will do everything it can to undermine this, but look at the membership. In a matter of days. And you can take quite a few off the Labour total as we'll be cancelling our membership now #YourParty

Doctors are there in our most critical moments. They care. They heal. They don’t strike lightly. Junior doctors are asking for just £4 more an hour — many carry £100k+ in debt. The govt must negotiate in good faith with The BMA. Solidarity with striking doctors. #DoctorsStrike

Newsnight tone all wrong tonight, all too light-hearted about golf and relations betwen Trump & Starmer. Very little about how the two men can stop the horrors of malnutrition, starvation & death in Gaza.

How to tell if your appointment was cancelled due to a Doctors strike Answer you can’t On a average day in the NHS hospitals cancel 50,000 appts Strikes days affect 40,000 appts, apparently🤔 Blaming the Drs for a broken system is giving Management/Govt the excuse they want

Welcome to day 2. Today we strike again to show the Government that we’re not backing down until we have a credible offer. Stick Together. Strike Together. Win Together. #PayRestoration

I was highly critical of Mr. Brotherton's appointment to the CEO post University Hospitals Birmingham and UHB's performance has confirmed it was a poor decision, but-credit where credit is due-I hear he engaged with picketing doctors yesterday and was respectful of their right to strike Wes Streeting
