New DOCTOR @em_ellis_ has wrapped up her amazing PhD with me and @jilledmondson25 and is heading to her new postdoc Research Centre For Ecological Change in Finland! Sad to see her off, but looking forward to hearing all about her exciting new research! Plants, Photosynthesis and Soil Grantham Centre #insect #pollinators

Our new paper, led by Grantham Centre scholar superstar @em_ellis_, on urban pollen transport by moths vs bees! Shout out and congratulations to Upuli Upuli Wickramaarachchi , who got top spot for presenting some her fabulous PhD work at the Science at Sheffield Biosciences symposium!

Congrats to new Plants, Photosynthesis and Soil postdoc Dr Yanan Liu - some of her prior PhD research King's College London on the effects of wildfire smoke on insects was runner up for the 2023 People's Choice award in Environmental Entomology Entomological Society of America ! academic.oup.com/ee/article/51/…

It's nice to be back at Gradbach Mill for the ECORISC CDT year 1 challenge event. The groups are working on projects looking at perfluorinated chemical inputs from airports, pesticide emissions from golf courses, hormone inputs from WWTPs and land use impacts on invertebrates.

The ECORISC CDT team have had a lovely afternoon walking to Luds church, Hanging Stone and the Wincle Brewery as part of the year 1 data challenge event at Gradbach.

Just wrapped up a fabulous #BES2023 conference British Ecological Society with some great science from the Campbell Lab and Plants, Photosynthesis and Soil, incl Upuli Wickramaarachchi Hannah Rachael Haw, Abby Barton, and alum @em_ellis_. #chemicalecology #insects #tacos

Had a great evening talking about research impact with the ECORISC CDT PhD students with like-minded colleagues from DEFRA, EA, Natural England, JNCC, Rivers Trust and Water Industry. Looking forward to today's session Alistair Boxall

A great start to the last day of the ECORISC impact workshop. Susan Zappala from JNCC presents the different opportunities for the PhD students to interact with partners from different sectors.

It has been fantastic getting the whole ECORISC CDT team together this week to explore links between the different PhD projects and to discuss how the CDT can maximize its impact.

Come and chat to me at poster 68 about insects, air pollution, and the trials and tribulations of setting up a fumigation system! 🐛🦋🐞💨 Stuart Campbell Laurence Jones #SETACSeville

‼️NEW PUBLICATION‼️ Thrilled to announce the release of this collaborative paper ‘Using systems mapping to understand the constraints and enablers of solutions to #plastic pollution’. Available here ➡️ sciencedirect.com/science/articl… @ExeterMarine Exeter Biosciences

PhDone! Congratulations to Plants, Photosynthesis and Soil & Grantham Centre scholar (and Yorkshire native!) Hannah Ronan-Brown Hannah who just defended her superb PhD thesis! Many thanks to examiners Toby Bruce from Keele Life Sciences 🌍, @LukeTDunning from Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Prof. Katie Field ! 🍅🐛🌼

Come join the lab! We have a PhD opportunity Plants, Photosynthesis and Soil which will use SUPER cool techniques to unravel how plant-pollinator interactions are adapting to stress & climate change! f/t Mike Smith and Prof. Jurriaan Ton.
