There has been a lot of talk lately about whether the Labour government can deliver on its housing targets. I recently talked with Chartered Institute of Housing's John Perry about his UK Housing Review chapter on this very topic ➡️ youtube.com/watch?v=rgdVK5… #UKHousing

It’s great to see the govt has extended the move-on period for newly granted refugees from 28 to 56 days, as we and many others have long called for. This should make a significant difference to helping some of the most vulnerable avoid homelessness uk.news.yahoo.com/refugees-home-…

A day out for the CIH Policy & Practice team today, visiting the National Trust 'back to backs'. A journey through time as we reflected on how housing conditions have changed - & some of the pressures still relevant today 🏘 Well worth a visit!

Whatever your politics the attack on ⁦Jess Phillips⁩ is grossly unfair. As a former Women’s Aid Federation colleague, I couldn’t believe anyone - whatever their views - could say that about her. She comes from the frontline, defending women and girls theguardian.com/politics/2025/…

Shocking that any government could even accidentally force 250k people (including 50k children) into poverty - but to do so knowing that their own impact assessment predicts it, is outrageous. Pushing people into poverty doesn't help them to escape it. Never has, never will.

Paul Johnson (@pjtheeconomist) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The OBR was perfectly clear. They didn’t show impact of welfare reform because they didn’t get details of the reforms until far too late. They “will incorporate an estimate of these impacts in our next forecast”. This a failure of govt policy making not of OBR.
