TOMORROW new vehicle access into the footstreets will be available to Blue Badge holders 🥳 Access will be via Blake Street, as well as the access via Goodramgate that was introduced in Jan. I'm so glad this reversal of Lib Dem/Green discrimination is happening, ahead of schedule

Thanks Matt Blackstock YSJSU @YUSUPresident for a great Rate Your Landlord launch. If you're looking for a student let then check the reviews - and review your landlord to help others. Remember if you're in Guildhall and having housing trouble you can contact me as well as leaving a review

We're launching a new regular drop-in, so local residents can talk to their councillors in person. We'll be at the Merchant Adventurers' on the last Friday of the month, every month (maybe not December). Pop in for a chat about local issues or anything else we can help you with.

We (the Guildhall ward cllrs) spent the morning helping at Door 84's community café and community pantry so that the wonderful volunteers who usually run this great initiative could have a well deserved day off for Easter. Of course we also helped ourselves to coffee and cake!

Guildhall ward councillors were out this morning with The York BID giving bins, bollards and lampposts a good scrub and a lick of paint. Thank you very much to the BID for organising the rejuvenation day and supporting so many volunteers to look after the city centre environment.

Last week I spoke to the council planning committee to reiterate residents' concerns about plans to build flood defences that leave them on the river side of the defences. The application was granted but Guildhall cllrs will continue to urge the EA to engage with local residents

The Guildhall Labour councillors have been trying to even out the ground at Monkbridge Landing to make it usable again, after work to remove a fallen tree unfortunately left the ground with deep tyre tracks, roots, and trip hazards. It should be completely back to normal by spring

This evening City of York Council resolved to renew its commitment to Fairtrade Intl. York is a Fairtrade city because promoting fair pay, fair working conditions, and sustainable production are so important for reducing global inequalities.

.Elect Her found there are twice as many men as women standing in the May elections. We're still so far from equal representation in our elected representatives. There are no elections in York in May but I'm always happy to talk to any women who might be interested in standing
