I’m very much looking forward to starting Lili Boulanger’s magnificent Psalm 130 this evening with Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus, even though it does sometimes make me wish I had more than two hands.

It was good to be back with the @LeedsLieder outreach team today, with poet Conrad Burdekin and soprano Hayley Swanton. We have plenty of schools to see before the concert day next month!

All ready for tonight’s concert with Doncaster Choral Soc. The choir are sounding fantastic, the wine glasses are tuned for Ešenvalds’ Stars, and I’m looking forward to performing a solo piece by Arvo Pärt.

Much deserved applause and thanks for Rachel Fright our superb accompanist and piano soloist this evening

Looking back on photos from last week’s Brahms Requiem with Congleton Choral Society. It was such a pleasure to duet with Lauryna Sablevicuite and to perform a set of songs with Samuel Snowden and Robyn Pullen | Soprano. 📷 Patti Pinto

That surreal feeling when you hear a choir sing your piece for the first time… Congleton Choral Society made a great first reading this week and I’m excited for the Christmas concert later this month.

Ed Robinson and I did some Christmassy Zoom concerts today, reaching about 150 schools. It was amazing to think about how many children were listening, and we had some great questions about our lives in music via the chat. Thanks to Live Music Now for making it all possible.

‘Thank you we feel very Christmassy’ We’ve been spreading festive cheer this week with #MusicalMondays. Online concerts with Alis Huws Harpist, Edward Robinson and Rachel Fright and @filkinsdrift have reached over 17000 children. Get your school involved at ow.ly/Kqc950UoY5G

It’s almost time for Congleton Choral Society’s Christmas concert! I’m looking forward to playing with brass band and cello in a programme of carols old and new (with one of them by me).

I’m playing for quite a busy day of recitals at University of York today. It’s a beautiful day for it.

Looking forward to performing in a sold out concert of The Armed Man later this evening with Congleton Choral Society and Acceler8 Brass Band! Photos from Monday night and this afternoon.

Happy faces after our performance of Poulenc’s Gloria this afternoon! It’s been lovely to stay at the Yarn Market Hotel in Dunster again and accompany the choral residential weekend.

Students from Sheffield Music Academy performed Monti’s Czardas in a pre-concert talk to launch the new season at Sheffield City Hall. It was a fun thing to put together! Here’s a rehearsal shot.

A full day at University of York today, working with six postgrads for their recitals next week. I always love playing this beautiful piano.

I’m spending most of my time repping for a new opera Royal Northern College of Music at the moment: Dangerous Matter, by Zakiya Leeming. Today, we moved into production and have been exploring some new sounds. The lighting didn’t feel quite so pink in rehearsal!

Toi toi toi to everyone involved in Dangerous Matter this evening! It was so exciting to go to the Royal Northern College of Music yesterday and see how it’s all been shaping up since you moved over to orchestra! 📷: Robin Clewley photography
