Delighted to visit IIT Patna in my hometown yesterday! Had a fantastic time presenting & engaging with bright students and faculty. Grateful to HoD Sweta Sinha and Nalin Bharti for the warm welcome—it was truly memorable! My son was a special guest and he asked two questions!

The two most common questions I get asked about AI are “which AI should I use” and “how do I start using AI?” I wrote a short guide attempting to answer both questions. oneusefulthing.org/p/using-ai-rig…

21 RMB for Peking Duck delivered to my hotel in Dalian, China. That’s 3 USD nominal and 5.78 USD PPP. Meituan platform. How possible? High volume for the shop, pre-made, delivered to automated locker (in hotel lobby), and yes, wages under 30 RMB/hr. Lunch for 6 next day from KFC

Careful how you use gen AI in the classroom. This nice paper by Alp Sungu Hamsa Bastani et al. shows that learning can suffer. That can be mitigated by the AI teaching by a sort of Socratic method. Hints rather than answers. pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

In Health Affairs Scholar, Mariana Socal, Maqbool Dada, and I analyze whether tariffs will help move drug manufacturing back to the USA. Our piece (bit.ly/RxMiA) is titled: "Prescription for Made in America? Tariffs and U.S. Drug Manufacturing." Our view: probably not,
