Excited to share our CoNLL 2024 paper on two open frontiers for psycholinguistics and language modeling: (1) goal driven comprehension (i.e. information seeking) and (2) repeated processing, with 👀📖 data. Work by outstanding undergrad Keren Gruteke Klein, Yoav Meiri🇮🇱 and Omer Shubi.

[NEW PREPRINT!] The language network ages well biorxiv.org/cgi/content/sh… Co-led with Niharika Jhingan, in collaboration with Ev (like in 'evidence', not Eve) Fedorenko 🇺🇦, Center for Brain Recovery, Maria Varkanitsa, @raryksin, & Idan Blank. 🧵 Details 👇

I'm recruiting PhD students + postdocs for my lab, coming to Johns Hopkins University in Fall 2025! Our brand new lab is at the intersection of cognitive science and AI, using computational + behavioral methods to understand how language works in minds and machines. Details below! (1/4)

🚨PREPRINT ALERT🚨 New paper lead by Allyson Copeland We use co-registration of EEG and eye movements to examine how context processing unfolds across multiple fixations in natural reading. Our first full co-registration reading study. Check it out!! doi.org/10.22541/au.17…

New paper with Alexander Fung, Pramod RT/ಪ್ರಮೋದ್ ರಾ ತಾ , Jessica Chomik , Nancy Kanwisher @[email protected], Ev (like in 'evidence', not Eve) Fedorenko 🇺🇦 on the representations that underlie our intuitive physical reasoning about the world. Thread 🧵about our new preprint 📄✨linked here: tinyurl.com/intphyslang 1/10

The reply to our NRN piece (nature.com/articles/s4158…) by Drijvers et al. presented a chance to clarify common confusions about our work on the language network (LN) and the functional localization approach more generally: rdcu.be/d5rkJ. 🧵1/n w/Anna Ivanova Tamar Regev

Glad to share that our paper (with Richard Futrell) is now on JML. In this paper, we proposed strategic memory allocation as a mechanism to handle less predictable but more informative linguistic units. Check out this link for more details: sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

New brain/language study w/ Ev (like in 'evidence', not Eve) Fedorenko 🇺🇦! We applied task-agnostic individualized functional connectomics (iFC) to the entire history of fMRI in the Fedorenko lab, parcellating nearly 1200 brains into networks based on activity fluctuations alone. doi.org/10.1101/2025.0… . 🧵
