We don't generally shame people for using alcohol to feel good, relax, or unwind after work or on weekends, or at lunch meetings, sports games, outings... But if someone uses other substance to do the same, all of a sudden, Drug Prohibitionists start ringing the bell. #Hypocrisy

Arianne (@ravensspirit68) 's Twitter Profile Photo

This hypocrisy and anti-drug use sentiment has been poured into the treatment of pain thanks to The Great Opioid Lie. Now, patients who don't use opioids for 'pleasure', but to moderate/severe chronic pain, are being denied the medicines that allow them the ability to live/work.

I got fired from my general practitioner last year that I’d had for years as a disabled person. Why? I asked them to refill my medication, and they reported me for drug abuse. Listen to disabled people when we tell you that we’re mistreated. A thread 🧡:

I feel really sad today. A soul deep kind of sad. Not sure what's up but the energy has been weird the last week-disruptive sleep for a bunch of people- and now I just feel drained and sad.

Sometimes it's all about perspective. Greta's been very vocal about her anti-opioid stance. Sort of a 'suck it up like I do' attitude. Thing is, real pain requiring next level care/meds can happen suddenly. She may be singing a new tune as life schools her. #PainCareCrisis

I wonder if doctors would care more about patients if they got paid only after they fixed the patients problem. And in cases where things can't be 'fixed', at least have that officially determined and actual palliative care (not hospice) put in place. #PainCareCrisis

Suneel Dhand MD Unfortunately, Gabapentin is Rx’d for just about everything. Tens of millions of #chronicpain pts who were doing well on safe, legal, FDA-approved #opioids had their opioids involuntarily rapidly tapered or discontinued. Rx’d useless Gabapentin. Left in pain. Disgraceful.

WHY NOW? Why is Gabapentin that’s Rx’d for β€œpain” such a hot topic lately? I’m curious because #chronicpain pts have been screaming about how useless Gaba is since the 2016 CDC Opioid Rxing GLs were published. Gabapentin is NOT a replacement for #opioids!

If you could pray for Spirit, that we can get his pain managed so he can live his last weeks without suffering unnecessarily, I'd appreciate it. This photo is from years ago, when he was a lot younger. He's still just as handsome. #PrayerWarriors #prayerrequest #CatsofTwittter

Lived in poverty w/MS 35 yrs.I have swallowed my pride and tried to get charity many times, for food and rent. Have you ever met anybody who received charity from an official charity organization? I haven’t. Besides paying the employees huge salaries, where does the $ go?
