We need stronger efforts to warn people about bad air quality from wildfires. I've been busy the last few days so my only news was 5 minutes here or there checking headlines and radio listening I didn't know the haze was wildfire smoke & that it was a risk until 24 hrs into it.

Because it wasn't at the top of the news headlines like it should have been! The govt should send a warning to our mobile phones to reach as many people as possible. Otherwise most of us are walking around and breathing it in completely oblivious. That's NOT our fault.

It's the govts DUTY and the news media's DUTY to warn us and reach as many of us as possible any way they can about air quality health threats. (Fin)

You can't expect people to set their own alarms and alerts for air quality. You cannot expect everybody to take in a full newscast or to check the weather network. Air quality is serious enough that the govt and news media must take extra steps to warn us about wildfire smoke.

We don't take air quality serious enough in Canada. I suspect that's because the govt is worried about the public reaction when they realize so many cancer deaths are direct links and that they haven't done nearly enough to warn us and equip us properly for preventing cancer.

Very interesting. 32% is CPC's normal level of support since Harper. It seems anti-Liberal voters from the NDP and the Bloc who pushed Pierre into the 40s are abandoning ship and returning home. But NDP and Bloc voters who put Carney over the top are sticking with Carney.

I cannot fathom how Pierre hangs on to the leadership with numbers like this. The only way he could justify running for another seat instead of resigning was his national popularity. If that's gone why on Earth would CPC keep him?
