I've written so many songs I don't know what to do with 'em. just mastered the new album (wow. that sounds archaic) for next year. then just gonna record the rest I've written and..and..bury them with me. f^&%* the music industry. *cuss word deleted by management.

it was loose. Paul forgot his kickdrum, Chris had never played bass with me before, Lisa's accordion was funky, Lloyd showed up late, and the always cool Stephen Bruton didn't even ask what key the song was in..age 8 Lucas fell asleep with a stray dog backstage. cool, huh?

big show thurs. itinerary said rehearse with band 10am. i called Lloyd Maines. I said, "can your band play the blues?" he said, "yeah." I said, "can they play the blues in any key?" he said, "yeah." I said, "rehearsal's over. see you at the downbeat."

some one wrote that my vocal sounds like a old scarred up abandoned dog growling at a puppy that's yapping and jumping around wanting to play..that some one was me..just then.
