The peninsula delivers again! A mad lunch break saw me connect with the first Least Sandpiper in Sussex for 30 years! Great start to the spring !

The peninsula strikes AGAIN! Amazing to be with the group seawatching when the shout of “SWIFT” went up. 2 BB Rares in 2 days!

I went to Chichester Gravel Pits this afternoon, whilst watching some Swallows I picked up a Harrier streaming towards me very high. Fully expecting a Marsh Harrier you can Imagine my surprise when it turn out to be a MALE HEN! Here's some ropy phonescoped footage

Chuffed to add Serin to my self found list this morning with this vocal Female at Selsey Bill. Second bird here this spring!

In Berlin for the day with work. The office balcony gives a view over a little wood with Nightingale, Redstart and ST Treecreeper. Makes you realise how poor uk biodiversity is! Makes the pain of missing Poms and stints back home slightly less painful

A proper dawn till dusk day for an attempt to beat the Selsey Peninsula day total, set by Ian Pitts 11 days ago. Over 15 miles traveled on foot and bike and it ended just after sunset with this Barn Owl being bird number 113. Serin was the highlight but I’m now broken

A Stonker! One of 5 Poms off Selsey I managed to see today. Slight consultation for the Long-Tailed that went through early afternoon.

1 year ago today this little bush on Holy Island held a first for the Western Palearctic! Not that I knew that when taking these videos 😂. Still annoyed that It didn’t twig until 8 hours after I saw it, what it actually could be/was . You live and learn..

In 25 years of birding I’ve only seen one Quail, in flight, flying away from me in 2005. That all changed this evening when I managed to pick this male up on the DECK! at Medmerry. Sadly only had bins, so video isn’t great, but mega to SEE one after years of just hearing them.
