Here we did some in-depth analysis of SIM and full scan for #targetedmetabolomics using #orbitrap. SIM is particularly useful for the detection of low intensity ions and for in vivo isotope tracing studies where we are really struggling with signals! doi.org/10.26434/chemr…

Thrilled to see this work out in Cell Metabolism! We found 1) glycine is CLEARED (not produced) by liver SHMT2 & 2) de novo synthesis flux from glucose of NEAAs serine & glycine is insensitive to dietary levels (homeostasis is by variable consumption!). cell.com/cell-metabolis…

Want to give your engineered yeast and bacterial strain a rational boost? Here is a new computational approach that provides you insight ino design strategies and allows for quantitative predictions. Bharath Narayanan, @mariamasid Ljubisa Miskovic, Maria, and Vassily Hatzimanikatis the real LCSB

Excited to share my postdoc work out in Nature Chemical Biology! We explored the preferences and efficiencies of ATP pathways in cells and tissues. By quantifying metabolic flux and proteomics, we found that respiration makes ATP faster per enzyme mass than glycolysis🧵nature.com/articles/s4158…

We are thrilled to announce that our generative ML method for kinetic modeling (biorxiv.org/content/10.110…) has been accepted to Nature Catalysis. Congratulations to Subham (Subham Choudhury), Bharath (Bharath Narayanan), Michael (Michaël Moret), Vassily (@Vassily_13), and Misko (Ljubisa Miskovic)

I am excited to share our new preprint on lactate metabolism! This has been a tremendous effort by my lab, Stavros George Drakos and Rutter Lab to integrate biochemical and physiological data to understand the mechanism of lactate metabolism in the heart. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. .

Happy to share the final version of this work where we incorporated isotope labeled CO2 data into mass spec-based flux analysis framework to build a whole-body flux model of energy metabolism. Full article access here: authors.elsevier.com/a/1keM55WXUlaX… Bo Yuan, Ph.D.

Wonsuk in my lab and Xiyu in Qin Yang's lab discovered NaR as an alternative NAD precursor, made by the liver-kidney axis, published in Cell Metabolism. Congrats all! sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

Thrilled to share that my main postdoctoral project in Josh Rabinowitz’s lab is out today at Cell! We found an unexpected, diet- and microbiota-dependent mechanism that affects the anticancer activity of PI3K inhibitors. Thread below👇
