Bill is right. There is risk of a debt spiral at Harvard. Taking the low end of Bill’s math, Harvard’s $53B is actually ~$36B and $7B of debt or $29B of net assets if you factor out all of their debt. That said, this $29B is now more accurately marked to market but the

This understanding of a university seems like a problem for institutions that depend heavily on the national government, and ultimately the national public.

I believe it is likely Harvard University’s that financial position is overstated by the media and the general public. I believe this is principally for two reasons. One, people ignore Harvard’s $7.9 billion of debt outstanding, which is likely to increase in order for Harvard to meet

Harvard is more important to how America works today than most parts of the gov't; many of them depend on Harvard for their selection. We really are headed for a regime crisis & not everyone can come out a winner. America can have self-gov't or Harvard rule, but not both.

I don't really think this is true anymore. The hires made at these places over the past decade or so have totally changed the fabric of them, and the old center-left WASPs and their cherrypicks are very much in the minority. In my experience at

NEW: Congressman Greg Steube has denounced Santa Ono's nomination for University of Florida president. Steube blasts Ono for his past support for DEI and "history of discriminatorily charged comments." Florida must remain the place where woke goes to die—not where it will live again.

The strategy should be to barrage the Ivy League universities with civil rights investigations and negotiate toward consent decrees, placing their administrations under a federal anti-discrimination regime. Then dismantle DEI down to the foundations.

If the universities want to remain open to international students, they should first do a better job of being open to the Other America, which they have mocked and despised for decades.

Whatever your view on Trump and Harvard, do not forget that wokeness arguably began with the Obama administration forcing private colleges to undermine students' due process rights by threatening to cut federal funding if they didn't

Completely insane. Wired publishing a How To guide for attention starved lunatics to commit high-profile political murders. They're practically begging for a copycat.

At this point the TROs are basically an automatic judicial veto on all new policy, and then the courts of appeals decide whether the judicial veto should be suspended. Whatever form of government that is, let’s please not call it “democracy.”

The Ivy League universities thought they could succumb to left-wing ideological capture, flagrantly discriminate against "oppressor" groups, load their campuses with CCP-approved students, and solicit checks from Gulf autocrats—and still collect billions from American taxpayers.

Brilliant idea Instead of pushing DOJ Consent Decrees on police departments for false claims of “systemic racism”, put them on elite universities with rampant evidence of *actual* systemic racism (DEI)

There are thousands of college scholarships offered by publicly funded universities, corporations, and non-profits that have race or sex as a qualification to be considered. The U.S. Department of Education and other tentacles of the United States government, including the DOJ Civil Rights Division should ban
