It saddens me that “Frankenstein”, directed by one of the most visionary filmmakers of our time and featuring such a dynamic cast, is not opening in theaters this fall, but dropping on Netflix. It looks so damn good too.

Seeing this teaser poster for “Black Phone 2” has me hoping it’s going to turn out to be a “feel good”, family-oriented Christmas movie. 🤞

I still maintain Michael would’ve had an easier time if he’d just used a bicycle. Plus, no one would’ve asked, “When did he learn to ride a bike?”

#NowWatching “Psycho Goreman”(2020). Gotta say I love the premise. It’s basically, “What if E.T. Wasn’t friendly, but a genocidal asshole that wants to eradicate all life on Earth.”

George A. Romero’s “Day of the Dead” is coming to theaters for its 40th anniversary on July 1, and you better believe I’ll be there (well…assuming it plays in my area).

Sure the trailer for the actual “Black Phone 2” looks pretty good, but I still prefer my idea of the Grabber getting sent to collections for unpaid phone bills. That’s real tension right there!

#NowSeating for “Bring Her Back” once again, after my first attempt to see it on Friday was thwarted by a bunch of unruly teenagers in the theater (I believe the British would call them “hooligans”). Fingers crossed I get to see all of it this time. 🤞

When I think about how the journey of the Philippou brother, going from viral videos of sticking knives in toasters, to creating two of the decade’s best horror films, it’s really quite mind boggling. No sophomore slump for them with “Bring Her Back”, that’s for sure.

Richard Franklin’s “Psycho II” was released #OTD In 1983. One of the most underrated sequels IMO, largely due to the reputation of its predecessor. Taken on its own, it’s a solid thriller, with an extraordinary performance by Anthony Perkins.

To me 80’s horror was the “silver age” of horror movies, and the slasher film reigned supreme. Of them, which slasher villain is your favorite? #HorrorCommunity

In “Bring Her Back”, Sally Hawkins gives what I feel to be one best performances in a horror film thus far this century, right alongside Toni Collette in “Hereditary”. The Oscars won’t remember her, but I sure as hell will never forget her amazing work in this film.

Rules: Share a real film title, but with a still from a different film (for whatever reason suits you). My pick: I went with “Audition”.

Rewatching “Sinners”, in part because I missed the first 10 minutes at the theater (I, uh…read the showtimes from the wrong theater), but also because I think it’s pretty damn good.

The fact that Walmart purchased the Monroeville Mall, where “Dawn of the Dead” was filmed and set, is sad to me. That mall absolutely should be preserved as a landmark.

Finally watched “The Damned” (2024), and while I thought it was good, I had hoped to be able to say that it was “DAMNED good” (you know, because that would’ve been clever…sort of). Worth checking out.

So Blumhouse officially has the rights to make future “Saw” films. They should make Billy the primary focus, if you ask me. (And why does Billy look like he went to JC Penney’s Portrait Studio for this pic?).
