We're screening this for Canadian Film Day. Nico's work is a huge influence. When I made my first feature there was nothing going on in Canada but filmmakers like Nicolás Pereda, Luo Li, and Simone Rapisarda Casanova were living in Toronto and making incredible work abroad.

Also, the first time Matt Johnson ever acted was in a Nicolás Pereda student film. They were both classmates at York University.

With Lázaro at Night, Gabino Rodríguez has starred in 8 of Nicolás Pereda's films. (9 1/2 if you do Fellini math and count their shorts). They're on pace to catch Wayne/Ford or Tsai/Lee (both 14). What other actor/director gesamtkunstwerks am I missing? Who holds the record?

The new Owen Wilson show Stick theme song sounds familiar. Vocals are reminiscent of Will Oldham. At the end of the opening it says ‘written by Bill Callahan’. But it’s not. It’s by a band called ‘Caamp’ and the show is actually written and produced by Bill Callahan? So confused.
