Hundreds of hours put into this program, and I couldn’t be more proud with how it turned out. I wanted to make this 100 Year Anniversary special for this school and community. All I ask for in return? A like and share, of course. THREAD 🧵⬇️ #TarponPride #Spongers100

athletic departments need to have a LEARNING + STABLE photo internship program throwing students into the ringer without reviewing photos, professional development, talks w/ people in the industry, 1:1 meetings, etc give out help that you might not have had, they are the future

The lack of humanity that has overtaken college athletics is a concerning trend. If you find yourself working for someone who fights for you, even when things go off course, cherish that and then emulate that. It’s becoming more and more rare by the day.

Jonathan King Can’t say enough about this last point, Jonathan. I’ve been extremely blessed to have worked with some incredible leaders who do just this, and also had the misfortune of time with the opposite. It is a world of difference and it shows through the product. Thinking of your team!

This is tricky. A lot of degree programs don’t have formal relationships with athletics. Just getting course credit for an internship can be a battle. Also athletics is so transactional now so there’s less incentive to mentor. The focus now is finding “game-ready” creatives.
