Cole Butcher dips to pit road from the lead with another rear end gremlin. Second event in a row with such issues, but he’s quickly gone back on track. 30 laps remain. Dawson Sutton and Derek Kraus duel for the lead.

Derek Kraus prevailed to score an emotional victory in the chaotic ASA STARS National Tour Food Country USA 300 at Newport. Stephen Nasse finished second with Dawson Sutton in third. Kraus will travel back to Charlotte to compete in tomorrow’s Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“This is a huge win for me and my family” Derek Kraus wins the first race at the newly revived Newport Speedway. Kraus will now turn his attention to Sunday’s Coke 600 with NY Racing.

“It’s amazing to see a race track come back” Fifth place finisher Austin Nason on the return of Newport Speedwau.

“He’s just a kid who thinks he deserves every single spot on the track” Cole Butcher speaks on Gavin Boschele’s displeasure with him.

“This is my favorite race I’ve ever ran” dawsonsuttonracing finished 3rd at Newport. Sutton spoke about the grind of running full time in Trucks and ASA.
