This chart starts in 1931 with a German computer, which was presented to Hitler at the time (who saw no use in it). That computer did 0.000007 calculations per second per constant dollar. The chart ends with a modern-day Google computer that can do 65 billion (!) calculations

Find My has quietly become the social app of the moment. Most young people I talk to track 5, 10, 15+ friends on Find My. This gets at the biggest trend in social: latent awareness. Curiosity about what other people are up to. I expect the concept will extend to other data.

I'd love to see a side-by-side of Facebook monthly active users today vs. if Facebook had never launched Marketplace. FB Marketplace is the 2nd-largest marketplace in the world by users (1B+) behind only Amazon—and it feels like everyone I know only still has FB because of it.

The internet was a distribution revolution. AI is a *production* revolution. What the Industrial Revolution was for physical production, AI is for digital production. I wrote a piece about this new era of mass production: digitalnative.tech/p/weapons-of-m…

Something I think about often: the *amount* of human communication, and how its composition has shifted over time. Imagine a breakdown of words that humans speak to one another; how has that mix been divided between in-person communication and virtual communication over time?

We all know GLP-1s are exploding, growing at a 53% CAGR (!) through 2030. But a friend in consumer products told me he's seeing another trend: the rise of ointments for stretch marks. Interesting to think about the downstream effects of innovation.

When I think of AI agents, I think of the "egg theory" in consumer psychology: When instant cake mixes came out, they sold poorly. It was too easy. People felt guilty about not contributing to the baking. So companies started requiring you to add an egg, which made people
