Growing up in Teesside, I worked hard enough and was lucky enough to get to King's College, Cambridge Cambridge University. I regularly gave talks to help children consider university, especially when no-one else did that for them. Richard Ayres has taken all Y7 to uni and changed lives.

🧵 [1] All over the country Y11s will be at home revising the night before an exam. There's a disadvantage gap. Not home has a quiet place to study. Not every kid will get fed. This put kids in a room with an expert doing that revision with a full belly.

Staff v 2027 Leavers - Rounders. A fantastic game, played in great spirits and close game. After an excellent second innings the staff ran out winners! Thank you to all staff and scholars who took part, amazing atmosphere. Last few weeks of the exams. Go and smash it!

We held our first secondary attendance strategy day today, led by Lorraine Yates our National Attendance Lead. Attendance leads from each secondary attended, helping shape 25-26 planning. Enjoyed Marc Rowland's fascinating presentation to eastern region trust leaders today on multi-school cultural strategy for addressing disadvantage. 'Disadvantage is less visible with consistently high quality teaching'.

What an absolute privilege. It’s sports day at @aawoodfields and the records have been falling through the day. We’re now ready for the relays, and the all star staff relays. So exciting!

And we’re off! London and the Houses of Parliament here we come, with a visit to no10 for good measure!
