Brilliant afternoon at the launch of the Manchester Met Institute of Sport and UK Sports Institute Centre of Excellence for Women in Sport at Manchester Metropolitan Uni hearing all about the existing work and ambitions of the Centre, from Head Kirsty Sale, Deputy Richard Burden and the super engaging panel discussion.


In 2023, Kirsty Sale was honoured with ActivePregnancyFoundation’s Researcher of the Year award for her contributions to women’s health & performance. Last week, we launched our new Centre of Excellence for Women in Sport with UK Sports Institute . We marked the occasion with insights from Kirsty Sale and Richard Burden, followed by athlete and industry perspectives from Ali Donnelly, Barney Storey, Molly Caudery and Robyn Love.


The Centre of Excellence for Women in Sport team have been working with British Rowing to help improve female rowers' performance. Kirsty Sale (@manmetuni) and Richard Burden (UK Sports Institute) led research into menstrual cycle tracking. Find out more: mmu.ac.uk/node/8615135
