If you see long grass along a body of water on a golf course, it’s not there because the maintenance team forgot to mow! Our USGA Green Section explains why these “buffer strips” are important.

Course accessories can cost a small fortune and they require lots of maintenance. Too many of them can also make a course look and feel cluttered. As with many things, less is usually more.

Wind and rain battered the eastern U.S. and it's going to take some time for golf courses to dry out and get cleaned up. Golfers should remember that many courses are light on staff and soils dry slower in winter, so patience will be needed.

Course weathered the storm fine. They can officially get rid of the drought notice. It’s wet out here #raleighgolf #riverridge

Fairway bunker on 3 is being refurbished. The contaminated sand was spread between cart path on 3 and 4t to level off that area. We just planted ryegrass there today to stabilize the sand. Still deciding on long term grass for this area.

Different look this year. Brown greens. Some golfers are confused. I say “If you get confused, listen to the music play” River Ridge GC #raleighgolf #rollawaythedew

River Ridge Demo Day was a success! Thank you Craig Hooks for hosting & giving feedback on the new 580L. One mower managed both rough and approach/fwy turf daily for three weeks (w/ consistent rain) & had great results. Schedule your GreenSight demo today!

Turf growth and recovery have been lagging in many parts of the Southeast this spring. There are some things superintendents can do to manage the effects of slower spring growth, but patience is still needed 👇
