Colorado has found 3 (presumptive) human cases of #H5N1 #bird in workers who were involved in the clean up of an affected poultry operation. CDC will need to confirm, analyze viruses (if possible) to see if they're the virus in cows. cdphe.colorado.gov/press-release/…

UPDATE: This outbreak happened when temps reached 104 in CO. Wearing PPE would've been hard. Industrial fans on, circulating feathers that might have carried the virus (& air?). @nirav_uscdc says the challenge is to protect workers from extreme heat & from the virus.
