As we move forward, districts have been directed to collaborate with local unions to find the right balance for teachers, support staff and students. We expect districts to be flexible and we will continue to work with the BC Teachers’ Federation to ensure educators’ workloads are not increased.

Health and safety continues to be the top priority. You have done an amazing job getting ready for today to welcome students back. Things will be different but what is constant is your care and concern for your students. 2/

We are an important part of our student’s support systems, these connections are highly valued and have been difficult over the last months. 3/

It’s important that your workload is balanced. We cannot teach in classrooms while maintaining the same levels of support for remote learning. And that’s okay, we cannot do it all, that is understood. 4/

For teachers continuing to support students remotely, I know you are doing your best to provide an educational and caring environment, and this is challenging. This is still an emergency situation, and we are all doing our best. 5/ #bced
