We are happy to announce the first company to be spun out of RNEL: Reach Neuro, Inc.. RNEL alumni Dr Marc Powell and Dr. Angelica Herrera, PhD, are developing a new treatment for chronic disability caused by stroke using spinal cord stimulation. #translation π§ͺ>π >π₯ 1/2

One of my papers from my PhD is out! We show that clinical balance and gait measures aren't useful for studying the effects of sensory impairments in people with lower-limb amputation. Huge thanks to Lee Fisher Patrick Sparto sciencedirect.com/science/articlβ¦

Check out this amazing work on bladder control from our lab. Congrats Maria Jantz and team!!!

π¨New paper out in Nature Medicine! Epidural Spinal Cord Stimulation (SCS) has shown amazing results for improving #MotorControl, but does it work in #Stroke? Here we explore the effect of SCS on upper limb motor control in chronic stroke hemiparesis (1/9) nature.com/articles/s4159β¦

I have never endorsed a movie in social media but truly moved by the Indian movie #Ghoomer. Being someone working closely with people having amputation, this movie deeply touched me. Must watch!!! Abhishek ππππ‘ππ‘ππ§ brilliant performance!!! ππ½

It was an amazing experience to serve as a panelist in this event at American Museum of Natural History. Had interesting conversations on how art can inspire sensory neuroprosthesis research. Thanks to Ruth Angus and Caroline McGraw.

Happy to share a βBehind the Paperβ blog post of our research paper! We wrote about why we wanted to study cortical recordings of individuals with amputation and how we approached this using network methods. go.nature.com/45kmGjd JHU Neuroengineering Andrei Dragomir
