I was told of a Mute Swan Blarney Castle & Gardens which had a ring on its leg and on Saturday Róisín Towe managed to read the ring. It has only moved 7km, but was ringed by John O'Halloran at The Lough nearly 21 years ago, making it the new Irish longevity record BTO BirdWatch Ireland EURING

We'd a couple of busy days at Bull Island, Dublin 2 weeks ago, managing to read rings on 25 birds! A summary of what we saw: - 17 birds (oystercatchers, redshanks and a bar-tailed godwit) ringed by BirdWatch Ireland. Some of these birds have been wintering at Bull Island since 2014.
