Our new paper on the effects of diapause on bark beetle phenology just got published in Ecological Entomology. We show the interplay of temperature and photoperiod and how climate change prolongs the repoductive season of Ips typographus. resjournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…


This is a sweet burying beetle larva. Each instar smells different, and mothers respond to the scent during feeding. Congrats to Jacky Sahm on publishing the third chapter of her PhD thesis: The scent of offspring Behavioral Ecology #buryingbeetles academic.oup.com/beheco/article…





2nd day Gevol meeting started with a great talk by Kristen Panfilio, we had a student meeting during our lunch break and a cool tour through the collection. Last but not least: typical Frankfurt dinner with Apfelwein.


3rd day of our Gevol Meeting with great talks by our invited speaker @GenomeHecker and Eyal Privman. Our students gave really amazing talks about their projects as well. Thanks to the Senckenberg Research for welcoming our Gevol Family this year.



#ISBE2024 coming to an end. What a great conference it was. Really enjoyed the opportunity, presenting my PhD work in front of amazing people. Met lots of cool people, had great discussions and made great friends. Together with Eric representing Sandra Steiger in Australia #ISBE2024
