An estimated 7.6 million Canadians live with #ChronicPain. Pain impacts all demographics, although not equally. Chronic pain is more common among females compared to males across all ages, with women 65+ consistently reporting the highest prevalence of chronic pain. #NPAW2024

Indigenous peoples are disproportionately impacted by chronic pain and face many barriers to appropriate care. Health Canada and PHAC’s Action Plan for Pain in Canada calls for culturally safe care to address this inequity. Track its progress here: PainCanada.ca/actionplan #NPAW2024
