Art is a legend. He was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame in 2016. He attended 70 consecutive editions of The Granddaddy of Them All in Pasadena, a streak that sadly ended this past year when he was unable to attend. We hope to see him on New Year's Day in 2026!

The 1952 Rose Bowl Game was particularly important because it was the first nationally televised college football game. For his efforts, Tate was inducted into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame in 1996. Our thoughts are with his friends, family and all Illini fans.
