It's that time of year when I need to declare to my college calculus students what is actually needed rather than what my campus bookstore webpage tries to sell to them, despite our order. They never get it right and particularly for incoming freshmen I find this reprehensible.

Happy birthday, Hillel Furstenberg!😁 When asked about his love for mathematics, Furstenberg shared that he realized he was enjoying it back in high school working with imaginary numbers, when his calculations did not get anywhere, but he still found the experience rewarding.🖋
