Saughton Mains residents will assemble at the Busy Bee at 2pm Thursday July 10th to demand that this mess gets cleaned up. Mitchells & Butlers made over £300m in profit last year - it would be spare change for them to sort this space out and give something back to the community.

Incredible effort from the Gardening Club at Gate 55. They’ve just been going for a few weeks and have already had a massive impact Gate 55 (Sighthill Library & Community Centre) has been run down by the Council over many years, but I felt real hope for its future seeing this.

Male life expectancy in Glasgow is also 73, meaning if the pension age were to rise to 74 that the average Glaswegian man wouldn't even claim a state pension. There's massive class injustices in these proposals, including the forms of work we'd be asking folk to do in their 70s.

Private hedges blocking public pavements are the most frustrating bits of casework i've had. The Council goes to great lengths to avoid picking up the tab, but also seems reluctant to issue statutory orders. I'll chase this one up, but from past experience, it will take months.
