The deadline for the ACM SIGGRAPH Thesis Fast Forward 2025 is approaching soon! Two more weeks to submit a 3-minute video about your research.

Because of multiple deadlines coinciding with SIGGRAPH Thesis Fast Forward, we decided to extend our deadline by a week: you still have until 7 October, 11:59PM AoE to submit a Thesis Fast Forward video.

On Tuesday I defended my PhD, “Intrinsic approaches to learning and computing on curved surfaces,” and received the doctor’s title cum laude 🎉 It was a beautiful day with many happy moments. Thanks to all who made this possible: my collaborator, friends, colleagues and mentors!

This was a wonderful collaboration 🤩 We developed a method that optimizes both an irregular tetrahedral grid and SDF for mesh optimization with marching tets. It recovers really detailed meshes with a fraction of the memory!
