As of September 15th, USA Cycling will require a cyclist to actually be female to compete in women's. This is a huge win. This governing body has allowed more men on the podium than any other sport governing body. Please take a moment to celebrate. (h/t Nancy Hogshead, JD, Oly)

If Malcolm Gladwell can be bullied into saying "trans women can compete in women's sports" then everyone else is also going to have a tough time pushing back. But if Malcolm Gladwell can say I was wrong. I'm embarrassed. I got bullied into it . . . then so can everyone else. Do it.

For years many of us often on 'the left' tried to warn everyone about freedom of thought/speech. Why? Because we have been cancelled/lost jobs for not buying into the gender cult. Don't gift these arguments to the right, we said. Well this is exactly what has happened. Happy now?

It takes courage to admit mistakes and change course. Just one minor point: *Males* have no place in female sports, no matter the male's "gender identity." And of course females are welcome in female sports, no matter the female's "gender identity," even if transgender.

So context, he's talking about a panel that happened in Boston at Sloan Sports Conf. a few years ago. I was a panelist, and he was the moderator/chair. I was significantly outnumbered on that panel, and my main recollection was that it was a bit of a car crash! speaking for myself!

I suppose those of us whose books didn't sell millions and who didn't allow ourselves to be cowed should be gracious that our viewpoint is finally winning. But I'm not going to lie, after the sustained attacks we've suffered for our integrity, it's hard.
