The Supreme Court's decision to strike down affirmative action, including in professional schools, like medical and nursing, will have detrimental consequences on Black health for generations to come. This is about life & death for us. Today, we are only 5% of physicians.

Just a general note that most colleges and universities don’t use affirmative action because most schools accept pretty much everyone who applies. Selective universities are a small slice of what “college” is in America.

today is a good day for every university to double down on those antiracism statements they wrote in 2020. don't be silent now.

I've read the opinion 3 times now. This striking down of the most nuanced and limited of approaches to affirmative action is terrible. And it is also important to keep the larger frame of racial inequality in education at the forefront of our minds.

A little weird tho that a private business CAN choose to DENY a customer because he/she is a member of a protected class, but a private university CANNOT choose to ACCEPT a customer because he/she is a member of a protected class.

In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court just paved the way for businesses to discriminate against the LGBTQIA+ community. We cannot sit idly by and watch as this court erodes civil rights. It’s time to expand the Supreme Court.

Yesterday, Roberts for #SCOTUS said the way to stop discrimination is stop noticing difference. Today, Gorsuch says if you have sincere belief, then you can discriminate and acknowledge difference because it is free speech. Yes, they both signed on to each other's opinion.
