Choosing whether or not to work with patients who have low reimbursement insurance is an ethical decision any new business owner has to make. Either choice can positively impact your bottom line. One choice is going to go against some of your morals. Don’t choose that one.

Embracing social equity as a business owner/model isn't just morally right, it's smart business. Prioritizing compassion and inclusivity strengthens your business and the community where you work. To say “it can’t be done” is saying “you don’t care enough to try”

Quality care doesn’t require a hefty price tag. By offering affordable options, you’re making sure that everyone has access to the therapy they need to live their best lives. This can be done whether you accept insurance or not. What are you doing to make PT more accessible?

#PhilanthroPT isn’t going to WOW investors with our profits. But we do the best we can with what we’ve got. In April our pro bono fun grew by $783 and this is going to allow us to hire a contractor to put in handrails to ease the burden of a caregiver and her disabled dad. #SdoH

For ortho PT clinics, accepting patients w/ Medicaid insurance has the biggest impact on improving the health of your community It also makes your business less likely to contribute to health disparities If this isn’t the biggest impact a PTbiz can make on pop health, what is?

At the heart of exceptional care lies a simple idea: everyone deserves access. Making our services available for everyone, no matter who they are or where they're from is how we deliver top-quality care at PhilanthroPT Great staff and great treatments ≠ Good business

🎶Wishing for a break Knowing we can’t pay Try to get the care we need but you keep pushing us away🎶 First draft of the first tune on my first solo album “Sad songs for the uninsured Vol. 1”

A patient comes into the clinic with foot drop looking for second opinion. put them in prone to find out they can DF foot actively. Was never assessed, just given bands to work strength For a doctoring profession, too many of us throw exercises at people without using our brains

Found out our patient who needs a handrail has a backyard and pool that are inaccessible and needs 2 ramps as well June is going to be a big month for our giveback program as we help ease the burden of living in his home after a stroke. Addressing #SDoH > talking about #SDoH

Today I measured leg length for the first time in over a decade. Patient told she has a discrepancy and has never had X-ray/anyone to measure it. Explained my test is pretty rudimentary but she wanted the numbers for herself. Do I lose my PT license now?

Good news…checked BP, performed cranial nerve testing, and called MD about some concerns for my afternoon patient. Got her scheduled for appt early Monday and discussed what symptoms could lead to an ER visit this weekend IM BACK BABY!

Beware of any Christian movement that demands the government be an instrument of God's wrath but never a source of God's mercy, generosity, or compassion.

Imaging having the opportunity to create real/meaningful/healthy change for hundreds/thousands more people in your community while still making a profit, but instead choosing to help fewer people for more profit. 🤷‍♂️Healthcare in America.

US political leaders often speak of Jesus' teachings of peace, yet their actions in supporting war reflect the exact opposite of what he taught and stood for. I don’t know what Jesus would do, but I don’t think this is it.

Beautiful day for a community event this morning. One person found me who needs PT. Win for us both. Referred another to a PT who offers something closer to what she’s wanting. Win for all three. Donated money to a local org to donate back into our community. We All win!

Last interview for a PT position is leaving his job because of the way his current employer requires billing. Boss is looking for 7 units for an hour of PT. Even when PT is not working directly with patient 😟 Is it possible? Yes. Is it legal? maybe sometimes But….

A benefit of booking 1 patient at a time: When medical bus no shows on a patient, we have an opening in our schedule. And we use that time (and take the time) to call the bus company and fight on behalf of our patients to get them out there to pick them up.

I just spent 10 minutes on Twitter for the first time in a while. I found one or two interesting PT/healthcare posts. There used to be dozens. Is it because I’ve been away for so long or are the convos generally not happening at the same rate they used to a couple years ago?
