One problem with grade inflation is it dilutes the signal for both institutions/employees, as well as for students and parents. Probably many kids themselves don’t know their true abilities, because we no longer use grades to communicate that.

The latest iteration of GPT is just so much better as an editor. The sycophantism has been toned down considerably and the level of analysis is much higher. It's good to use these systems consistently so you can really see these marginal improvements.
