Happy Earth day! 🌎 We all have a role to play in helping protect our planet for generations to come. Actions big and small will make a difference! I’m using my scientific background to help develop policy solutions as a S&TPolicyFellowships Fellow. What will you do?

Energy-efficient housing not only benefits the climate, but has economic, health, and social benefits as well. Fun to staff an in person hearing as part of my S&TPolicyFellowships!

Climate action in 3 steps: 1. Reduce everything we can, as much as we can, first. 2. Offset the rest (which is impossible to do if we don't reduce everything we can first). 3. Build resilience to the impacts we can no longer avoid. Why? Because the only other choice is suffering.

Proud to be working with such a brilliant UMN Climate Adaptation Partnership team to ensure that Minnesota communities are resilient now and in the future. Collaborative efforts are how we will solve this climate crisis!

Good policy brief by former colleagues CaSP_UWMadison highlighting how we can source the metals needed for the clean energy transition from secondary sources!

The Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 will help move the US toward cleaner energy sources, enhance American competitiveness, and tackle inflation. What’s in the bill? Tina Smith breaks it down on the @climatepod. Take a listen! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sen…

I just witnessed history in the US Senate chamber. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have worked with so many talented colleagues as a S&TPolicyFellowships Fellow to pass strong climate legislation! It’s been a wild ride…

Thank you Pete Wyckoff and all the others who worked tirelessly to get this bill across the finish line!

When I started in the Senate last year, I couldn’t have imagined the adventure that would follow! I am grateful for the opportunity to have served my home state and learn first hand about policymaking. Thank you Tina Smith, AGU Science Policy, and S&TPolicyFellowships for this experience!
