Do all cervical spine injuries need ATI? Short answer - no. Some have head injuries and may not be compliant to have ATI. ATI Vs asleep decided on individual basis. Speak to surgical colleagues and risk assess to see if other patient factors may influence decision. #GAMC2025

"Effective oxygenation buys you time" A second generation SGA can be a bridge - NOT a failure. Oxygenation is the goal! If you are unable to intubate in a time critical GA LSCS but have a SGA, judgement call needed re: wake up or continue depending on factors #GAMC2025

More of a focus of anatomically difficult airway & less on the physiologically difficult airway. Physiologically difficult airway is one where patients' physiological & pathophysiological alterations increase risk of complications during tracheal intubation. #GAMC2025

Why do some patients have cardiovascular collapse after tracheal intubation? Some patients may be critically ill and lose their sympathetic drive with induction agents. Think about use of induction drugs- Avoid using propofol & consider drugs such as ketamine! #GAMC2025

The PrePARE and PrePARE II trial suggested use of fluid bolus pre induction did NOT decrease the overall incidence of CVS collapse. Interesting upcoming trials comparing fluids Vs vasopressor pre induction. Will I stop giving a fluid bolus pre induction? Not likely! #GAMC2025
