Another beautiful study from Zayd Khaliq. Check out the bonus species in Figure 7. This is probably about the hardest electrophysiology out there1 Fast-synaptic axo-axonal transmission from striatal cholinergic interneurons onto dopamine fibers. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Well I guess our paper has spread faster than I expected for a Sunday! Here is a short tweetorial for our recent Zayd Khaliq study just posted to BioRXiv. TLDR: We see synaptic-like ACh transmission onto dopaminergic axons in the striatum. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Incredibly proud to have contributed to this project!! Of course, huge thank you to Paul Kramer, Ph.D. and Zayd Khaliq for helping me learn these difficult and beautiful recordings when I first joined the lab. DAxons truly never cease to amaze…

There's no better way to wrap up my time with Zayd Khaliq than to see this out in its final form!! The last two years have been an incredible experience and I'm sad to leave such an amazing environment. But for now, on to new adventures at Program in Neuroscience at Harvard Medical School! cell.com/neuron/fulltex…

Exciting work from the lab on unique DA subpopulation! SN pars lateralis DAN firing differs from SNc in super interesting ways. We find robust auditory CTX input and test in threat behavior. Congrats to Lorenzo Sansalone (@newrochemist), Rebekah Evans Emily Twedell, Sherry Zhang!
