Ethereum and all the other chains out there are single virtual machine. JAM is a type 1 hypervisor... a host for multiple VMs. To run Polkadot chains, Cosmos chains, OP Stack chains, zkEVMs, and restaking AVSs once they look for affordable alternatives.

Alice und Bob Gavin Wood I think the better and more obvious analogy is that JAM is a fast multi-core decentralized computer. Ethereum is a slow, single-core decentralized computer. Virtual hardware is not quite the same as a virtual machine, at least not how those terms are colloquially used.

Polkadot is a big decentralized world computer 🌍💻 Polkadot has a virtual CPU Like your macbook or Windows computer, Polkadot's CPU cores have utilization and can be monitored 📊 Cores are used by rollups / appchains Here below 1 core used by 1 chain👇

The leaders of the Free Societies should be strengthening their citizens by sponsoring strong crypto and cryptoeconomic systems and encouraging or even mandating their secure usage. Instead the idiots are doing the opposite.

Elastic Scaling is truly a game changer for rollup scalability ! I just published an article that tells the scalability story of Polkadot, Elastic Scaling and how the Web3 Cloud compares to traditional Web2 Clouds. Check it out: parity.io/blog/polkadot-…

We've just released NOMT v1.0-preview. The new state database we've been working on for a year is just about ready for production. On hardware that costs less than $1200 we have achieved >50,000TPS with 100M accounts and >25k TPS with 1B accounts. Full post in next tweet.

.Polkadot is building a Web3 cloud, a decentralized, scalable system that can compete with traditional cloud providers. But most people don’t realize just how far ahead it is. Let’s break down its Elastic Scaling model and what it means for the future of blockchain. 🧵👇

Ethereum-compatible smart contracts are a huge focus for Parity right now. But it's not the only important upgrade we're delivering for Polkadot Elastic Scaling, its value and a timeline in 4 images... Graphics: joyce / Andrei

When it comes to User Experience, low latency is everything! Now elastic scaling - the final piece of Polkadot 2.0 - offers yet another path toward half-second blocktimes. Need 500ms blocks? Just BURN enough DOT to use TWELVE cores!

My prediction is that only a few project will stand the test of time. These are the ones that fully adhere to the Web3 principles. Polkadot is set for long term success with a sharp focus on security, resilience, and decentralisation while achieving incredible scalability.

Polkadot v1.5 Release Countdown A proposal to upgrade to Polkadot 1.5 on 2025-05-14 just hit on-chain Governance - Introduces XCM v5 with lots of cross-chain improvements (fees, transactions) - Async Backing getting tested on Kusama Hub Last version before Elastic Scaling?
