First health fair for Asian American Pacific Islander month! Blood pressure screening and free giveaway items were provided 👍 UF Health Jacksonville #preventivemedicine #AAPIHeritageMonth Sarah Chiu, MD

We at UF Health Jacksonville were just awarded the platinum award by American College of Cardiology for providing top quality care for MI patients. Congrats to chief of cardiology Dr. Angiolillo and the #cardiology team! 👏 #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

There is a big gap between #women and men receiving cardiac catheterizations, the gold standard for evaluating coronary artery disease. Women still receive fewer of these procedures. We need to make more providers aware and #narrowthegap! UF Jacksonville Cardiology Fellowship #cardiology #researchday

Our former clinic #mentor and chief of #cardiology Dr. Alan Miller treated our class to dinner. He shared many stories about having met prominent cardiologists (Feigenbaum and Valentin Fuster for instance) and serving in the Vietnam War. What a #legend! UF Jacksonville Cardiology Fellowship

Did you know that max predicted heart rate formula (220-age) is based on study of all men? *This OVERestimates HR in women per Dr. Martha Gulati ♥️🫀❤️🩹🇨🇦 study below* ⌚️Guess which formula is used for common smartwatch HR monitors? 🤔 #HRX2023 #FemTech ahajournals.org/doi/full/10.11…

Fortunate and excited to present my abstract at this weekend’s AHA Scientific Sessions! Come ‘round if this topic piques your interest 😄 #AHA23 #womenincardiology AHA Science GoRedforWomen

Sarah Chiu, MD presenting her poster under the GoRedforWomen and Underrepresented Populations community. Women were less likely to be referred for left heart cath in addition to undergoing coronary intervention compared to men #AHA23 #cardiologyfellow

So inspired by Joseph C Wu, MD, PhD’s vision. “We are all better off when we are part of a team, especially when we all work together to do the right thing for the right reasons … because #CV disease does not care about any differences that may divide us.” #AHA23

Rare moment with #WIC in the stress lab! Strong female representation 💃🏻 #womenincardiology #girlpower #cardiologyfellow UF Health Jacksonville

I may never have this chance again but today was remarkable to talk to First Lady Melania Trump Maria Shriver Ted Lieu Secretary Xavier Becerra Women's Health Research at Yale about Women’s Heart Health and the need for more research in this area. We must focus on the inclusion of women in research and fund this!

Happy National Wear Red Day (and belated National Women Physicians Day)! Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women. Unfortunately, women are underdiagnosed compared to men, delaying treatment. Help us narrow the gap! ♥️💃🏻 #NationalWearRedDay #womenincardiology UF Health Jacksonville
