Hospitals that delay the provision of required rotations to International Medical Graduates on the Standard Pathway, and in doing so exploit them financially, should be prohibited from hiring IMGs. PGY8 doctors stuck on PGY2 salary at the whim of their employer.

What is happening in Mental Health in our EDs SA Health there are 57 mental health patients in our metro EDs and 46 pts waiting for the right MH beds. 30 mental health pts waiting over the recommended time for a bed. Where is the help for our patients, clinicians and community.

Have not seen these high mental health patient numbers in metro emergency departments before - definitely getting worse wonder what the plan is by @sahealth bureaucracy with 45 mental health patients waiting for the right bed

Spoke to all doctors at Hammersmith and Queens Charlotte's hospital today. This government talks a lot but does very little. 22% pay cut, unemployment crisis, locum rates abysmal, unfilled shifts, burnout. Doctors have had enough and will vote YES for strike action in 2 weeks.

Checking the bed figures for day 2 of winter 🥶 in our hospitals given the administration winter planning would have swung in - 133 pts waiting for a bed (WFB), and 42 mental health pts WFB in EDs and last week one LHN sent out a notice to reduce elective surgery given pressure.

There are 134 people admitted & waiting for a hospital bed housed in our adult EDs. This significantly reduces ED capacity to assess & manage new patients! Chris Picton MP Nurses/Midwives SA SA Ambulance Service ACEM AMA(SA) ⚕ SASMOA sahealth.sa.gov.au/wps/wcm/connec…

Hospitals too small, no medical workforce planning, health crisis, ramping, access block, not enough beds and staff, transforming health,COVID, CALHN placed in administration and somehow doctors who are rostered on weekends as we all know are to blame indeed an all new low.

Harsh Kanhere SASMOA This is the number of hospital beds per capita in Australia (age > 65). Ramping has nothing to do with rostering. No beds = ED full = ramping. We need more beds.

116 patients in Lyell McEwin Emergency Department -207% capacity. It’s so dangerous. Many patients remain in the ED for 3 days or more, waiting for a hospital bed. Expected to be even worse late Monday😳

Monday morning query from member - Good morning, just a question, 41 admits, 20> 24 h, 81 in total. 50% of all ED capacity in NALHN are admits. Can SASMOA do a pulse check on health and safety of staff and pts and tell health bureaucracy - another great winter plan from them 😡

Hard conversations are being had between senior ED Registrars in SA Health do we work in the department undergoing a review of its toxic workplace culture or the one where doctors are being regularly assaulted by patients? SASMOA Chris Picton MP

Just leaving the LMH ED after an inspection 40 admitted patients 4 out of 5 resus rooms full. Told inpatient wards have “been working their guts out all day” longest stay patient in the ED was told 72 hours - waiting rooms are full - this is not sustainable SA Health
