Our first HPU Marine Science student Fiza Zahid defended her Master's thesis last week! #damselfish, #corals, #HeatWaves

The Sclero lab makes its first conference appearance at @goldschmidt2022 with Jess Caylee Hankins presenting her work on Raman spectroscopy of corals during the industrial era

Coral drilling takes a lot of planning, pre-dive discussion, SCUBA tanks, and... a SUP-raft-of-science Jess Caylee Hankins HPU Marine Science Tom DeCarlo

In an attempt to establish a scientific twitter presence, let me introduce myself. I'm Jess! I am a second-year master’s student Hawaiʻi Pacific University examining the chronic effects of #oceanacidification on the #geochemistry of coral skeletons. The goal is to begin my Ph.D. fall 2023!

Our first coral cores from Hawai‘i: Jess Caylee Hankins holds a piece of core that—based on a rough estimate of growth rates—probably covers about two decades in the mid-1800s

Excited to continue working on coral cores with U.S. National Science Foundation #CAREER funding. The Sclero Lab be starting with a virtual core repository later this year Hawaiʻi Pacific University HPU Marine Science hpu.edu/about-us/the-o…

The Sclerochronology lab's first paper HPU Marine Science is out today! In #ASLO_Letters, Hanna Mantanona shows that, surprisingly, coral calcifying fluid saturation state is elevated during and after bleaching events aslopubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/lo…

We are happy to share 2 new articles published with APC waivers from the L&O Letters Early Career Publication Honor🍾🥂❤️ The first is from Rafael B. Dextro, a PhD candidate Centro de Energia Nuclear na Agricultura da USP. The second is from Hanna Mantanona, who finished her MSc from Sclero Lab See links below 🤩
