This is a key message for BMA Consultants and BMA SAS Doctors Don’t put your patients or your licenses to practice at risk by letting employers spread you too thin. They know they should be stopping elective work to keep patients safe, but they’re hoping you’ll risk it all for what?

Your Drs are an absolute bargain in the UK: A fully qualified 1st yr hospital Dr will make just *£18.62/hr*. A Dr’s assistant (physician assistant) in their 1st yr will earn >£24/hr. Until govt resolves this, there is no moving forward. Solidarity✊🏽 #residentdoctorstrikes

'Even if our pay was restored we would still be paid less than the Physician Assistants with their two year degree’ BMA Resident Doctors Committee Co-chair, Dr Ross Nieuwoudt says his members feel 'a little bit tricked' by Wes Streeting as they begin a five-day strike in England

1. A thread. As a Professor of Cardiology and senior consultant i fully support resident doctors in their strike action. Newly qualified doctors of today: ➡️ earn 40% less than their newly qualified assistants ➡️ earn £18/ hr ➡️ financially they are worse off than when I was

Lord Bethell Hi Jim, FYI….its Prosecco But yes, everyone is entitled to champagne; from the life appointed peers in the House Lords to people like me who were born and raised on a council estate

Imagine being a Hereditary peer and accusing someone else of privilege. Someone that sits in government not because of achievement & certainly not because of talent - he is there because of a feudal system of privilege. Governing over us not through achievement, but birth.

Professor Karol Sikora Drs with medical school and £100k of debt will take 20 years to cumulatively outearn physician assistants who work less hours and have a 2 year PGDip. You have no right to comment on a system you let burn

Guy who gets paid £300 per day just for turning up at a job he inherited, even if he just sits there on his arse, has a dig at a worker who has the audacity to spend his disposable income on something that isn’t essential merely to survive.

James Steen (@bma_james_steen) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It really rankles unelected Lord Bethell that ordinary working people might get to enjoy life Not doubt it’s doubly painful for him that Dr Carson hails from a council estate, worked hard and earns his living by having invaluable skills for society What is you do again, m’Lord?

‘No additional funding’ for 2026/27 GP pay uplifts, Streeting tells DDRB So more cuts in patient access with GPs underemployed or unemployed 20% real terms cuts in funding since 2016 mean less access for patients Wes Streeting Stephen Kinnock pulsetoday.co.uk/news/practice-…

Bought and paid for....opening floodgates to privatisation....a lightweight out of his depth, and another example of the "pigs at the trough" mentality of some senior members of this "labour" government...John Smith will be turning in his grave.

Leicester surgical department have removed a trade union representative from work opportunities because of union activity. This is unlawful, known as: 1. Detriment (TULRCA 1992 s146) 2. Blacklisting (Employment Relations Act 1999 (Blacklists) Regs 2010) Leicester's Hospitals

Caught up with a friend who moved to Australia as a doctor. Their contracted hours are 7:30am–3:30pm, 5 days a week. Paid significantly more than what they earned in the NHS working 48+ hrs/week. Every single 10 mins after 3:30pm is logged and paid as overtime. Let that sink

If the Reg had called in sick on a normal day would the consultants refuse? The Trusts Senior Management Team have just admitted to endangering patients Nick Lyons and Jane McNicholas, as CMOs, why are you not ensuring Consultants are trained in IT to provide safe care?
