Congratulations to our Centre Director, Kerrie Mengersen - just awarded the Ruby Payne-Scott Medal by the Australian Academy of Science. The medal is one of the Australian Academy of Science's most prestigious awards, recognising researchers of the highest standing over a career.

Yesterday I presented my final PhD seminar on the use of bayesian models to improve the spatial resolution of health data in Australia🎉Huge thanks to all those who supported me through this journey, particularly QUT Centre for Data Science and Cancer Council Queensland!

New paper! Here we GPS-tracked kākā Orokonui Ecosanctuary, and found that younger kākā were more exploratory and had larger home ranges, which increased their exposure to risk outside the safety of the fence. We also present an approach for dynamic space use. conbio.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.11…

Excited to see our paper accepted in TMLR. This work, a collaborative effort with David Nott, David T. Frazier, David James Warne, and Chris Drovandi, proposes robust sequential neural likelihood, a simulation-based inference method that is robust to model misspecification.
